.:Image Stretch Tutorial:.
Open Adobe Photoshop (my version is 7) and open the image you wish to stretch. I chose this picture from Boyis.
Next, press CTRL+A then CTRL+C. Click on file, and then click new. A box should now appear. My image's height was originally 300, so in the box for the height, I changed it to 400. There are three buttons at the bottom left of the box. Click on transparent (the last one).
Now, press CTRL+V and move your image to the very bottom of the page. Then select the skinny horizontal marquee tool (
). To get that, go to your tool bar and click on the right corner on the sqaure marquee tool, and then a small list will popup, and select the horizontal one.
Click on where you want the image to stretch (in my case, I want the top to be). Press CTRL+T (short cut taught by Mystic ^^) and drag across the transparent area.
And you're done! Wasn't that simple? You can use this technique for layouts and other graphics. ^^ This is how mine turned out:
I hope this tutorial will help, and don't forget to link back. =) And please DO NOT copy/steal any of my tutorials either!!
